We discussed analysis of Pim’s data, including the possibility of demonstrating a positive association between diabetes knowledge and self-management among Portuguese Americans with type 2 diabetes.

A consequence of this meeting, although somewhat outside our remit of ascertaining Nursing faculty statistical needs that after devising a scoring procedure the team carried out statistical inference on a positive effect of diabetes knowledge on diabetes self-management, and also conducted descriptive and summary statistics for a number of related variables.
